The ‘100 Million Meals’ initiative, the Arab world’s largest food drive, aims to provide food parcels to empower needy individuals and families in 20 Middle Eastern, Asian, and African countries to cook their own meals during Ramadan. The aim of the initiative is to provide enough basic food products to prepare up to 100 million meals.
The UAE has begun distributing food parcels in Ghana, Angola, and Uganda as part of its 100 Million Meals campaign. The UAE’s 100 Million Meals campaign has nearly doubled its goal, raising Dh188 million on Monday, with donations pouring in from all over the world. Families and societies halfway around the world are now happily cooking delicious meals from their care boxes, which contain all of the essentials: flour, rice, salt, sugar, lentils, oil, and more.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the campaign’s organizer, is working with local food banks and charities in the recipient countries to ensure that those in need receive food quickly and efficiently.
The 100 Million Meals drive has already reached beneficiary communities in Jordan, Pakistan, and Egypt, as well as Ghana, Angola, and Uganda, with the support of its global partners. It will visit 30 countries in total, feeding the hungry one food parcel at a time.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, low-income individuals and needy families in Uganda, Ghana, and Angola began receiving parcels containing essential food products to allow them to prepare their meals. Every AED1 donated to the ‘100 Million Meals’ initiative provides a meal to an individual in a developing country.
Either through the website, SMS, bank transfer, and call centre, companies and individuals can donate as little as AED
From the website www.100millionmeals.ae, any person, institution, corporation, or businessman from within or outside the UAE can donate any number of meals.
